Episode 11 - lots of Scalping

We just got episode 11 recorded last night. I listed my opinions and impressions of Scalped after reading the first 5 trades in the last week or so. Don was jonesing on Kelley Jones in Batman: The Unseen. We recorded at Don's house again since my in-laws are staying in my "recording studio". This was our longest episode, but, hey, when we're both off of work we have a lot of time to read comics. Hope you enjoy!

Episode 10 - Don dominates

Episode 10 is in the can. Woo hoo. When I started just a few months ago, I wasn't sure I would get here, but here we are. I didn't have a lot of new comics to talk about, but Don had quite a few, so he got a lot of voice time this episode. Also, easily our longest episode so far. We'll how next episode goes to see if it is a portent of things to come.

Episode 8 - all killer, no filler

Recorded episode 8 tonight and should have it up on the website. My brother Don joined me again and we got the microphone problem fixed. Talked about War of Kings, Amazing Spider-man, Fantastic Four, Uncanny X-men, Previews, and Aldebaran.

Pictures of my longbox storage system.

Some pictures of my long box storage system:
Some I day I would like to put some doors and finish them out with some faux wood laminate. Time and money, though.

Episode 7

Got the next episode recorded. Episode 7!!!! Also, I got my brother to join me. Unfortunately, I think the recording quality went down. We used different microphones, and he was not as close to my microphone as I was, so it created a volume discrepancy between our voice volumes. I tried to correct it through editing, but my lame equipment made it difficult. Next time will be better, I promise.

Episode 6 - misc musings

Got episode 6 recorded and up last night. I was worried I wouldn't have much to talk about since I haven't received a shipment from DCBS for a couple of weeks and I had already covered the majority of the solicitations. However, I managed to ramble about a variety of topics. Now, whether or not this is entertaining in any fashion is the real question, but, hopefully, for the listeners sake, it is at least interesting.

Episode 5, some crappy comics and great solicitations

Got episode 5 posted up. I actually did some editing of the podcast this time. I'm not sure how to transition the intro music properly. I guess I need to work on that, but I edited the main part of the podcast and tried to make it flow better. I feel like each episode continues to get better, but I guess that's actually up to the listener. So, listener(s).... give me some feedback.

Episode 4 - Alan Moore, Iran, and Starman

Finished up episode 4. It seems like every week I slip one day, but, hopefully, I can put a stop to that next week. I think I figured out which microphone and setup works the best for sound quality. Hopefully, this episode sounds the best so far. Let me know what you think.

Been reading my Fantastic Four run. I started with issue 86, which is my only Lee and Kirby issue. You know, with everyone bitching about Eaglesham drawing Reed so buff in the new FF book, they need to go back and check out how Kirby drew him. He's pretty stout. I think Byrne must have slimmed him down, and set the standard from that point forward. People need to learn their history, Eaglesham is just taking him back to they way he was.

Episode 3

Got episode 3 recorded and up and running. Recording itself went pretty well this time. Hopefully, the end product is the same quality. I think I need a new microphone, but I'm not investing any money in this thing until I get it going a little more. Thanks for checking it out.

killyrcomics episode 2

Hey all,
Got the second episode recorded. It came in a bit longer than I wanted, but I enjoyed creating the retrospective on Walter Simonson (one of my favorite artists). I may need a better microphone because I'm not sure how to get rid of the static when I am recording my voice. If anybody has any pointers, I would love to hear them. Now all I need are some listeners. Come on, comic book lovers.... listen to my podcast!

Episode 1

I got the first podcast recorded last night. I thought that was going to be the most challenging part, but, as usual, life has surprised me. Trying to get it posted to the web and get someone to actually listen to it is seeming to be the most challenging part.
I'm hoping I can get it posted to the Comics Podcast Network, but they want you to have 10 episodes under your belt. I may be broadcasting to the void here for awhile. I tried to drum up some interest by posting a link on some comic book forums, but I seem to have a hit a nerve. I guess I wasn't the first person to think of that.
I must say it gives me some new found respect for all the pod casters who have managed to build up a following.
I did get it posted to itunes, though, so that happened faster than I thought.
